Understanding Pop Art

24th January 2019

Read Year 3 and 4's account of what they learnt at the Andy Warhol exhibition in Rome.

Years 3 and 4 went to see an exhibition about Andy Warhol at The Vittoriano.

Andy Warhol liked to make Pop Art (Popular Art), so he took polaroid photos of famous people, added colours then screen printed them lots of times!

He printed on T-shirts and bags so that art could be with you everywhere! He designed music album covers and produced famous bands like The Rolling Stones and The Velvet Underground. There was even a mirrored room where they were playing The Rolling Stones! Projections made the flowers change colours and patterns.

We had a brilliant day!
