Primary School Teacher Advertisement - May 2023
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Primary School teacher to join our uniquely democratic, highly collaborative and very successful school in Rome.
The New School Rome is a not-for-profit, private, international school for pupils aged 3‑18 offering the English National Curriculum.
We are seeking to recruit a colleague who can work both independently and collaboratively . Experience of teaching Upper Key Stage 2 would be advantageous. A successful candidate should have a strong motivation and an ability to deliver excellent outcomes for students.
Ideally the candidate would be able to lead Maths or English across the primary school.
Essential Professional Criteria:
The New School Rome seeks to appoint teachers who have the following proven qualifications and qualities:
- A degree and a teaching qualification, or a Bachelors or Masters degree in primary
- Education. Experience of teaching the British Curriculum successfully, and an understanding of effective assessment strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to making lessons enjoyable, stimulating and relevant to all learners.
- Empathy with students across the age and ability range and the ability to implement a range of teaching strategies to cater for each individual student

The ability to encourage students to continue their learning independently and spark an enthusiasm and love for learning by modelling it as a teacher.

The depth of knowledge and agility of mind to allow flexibility in lessons, adapting delivery as appropriate in the light of students’ responses.

Experience of promoting the personal development and wellbeing of children.

Patience and thoughtfulness to see any issues that may arise with students, parents or colleagues from a variety of perspectives.

The ability to adapt quickly to a new environment, establish good relations with students and gain their confidence.

The Role
-
Deliver primary school teaching.
-
Maintain the highest standards of practice in planning, preparation, monitoring, assessment, reporting and feedback in line with school curriculum and policies.

Deliver individually focused lessons in order to accommodate varying levels of knowledge and student ability from Key Stage Two.

Place at the heart of the curriculum an emphasis on oracy, creativity, independence and critical thinking.

Demonstrate willingness and ability to liaise effectively and professionally between students, staff and parents when required, making accurate records of these exchanges.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the highest level of student engagement and progress from Key Stage Two to Key Stage Three.
