RISA Art Show Winners 1999

 Winner of "Best of Show" by Jackie Bahbout (Yr 13)

After seeing some of Peter Blake's recent works which were greatly inspired by the permanent collection in the National Gallery, London, I wanted to experiment putting modern figures into a classical painting. I chose the people I thought were best suited to the figures in Caravaggio's famous "Supper at Emmaus" both for their physical appearance and character. Armando for his dramatic pose, Dan jumping out of his seat, Andrew observing from a distance, and Tony's air of calm wisdom......
