P.S.H.E.: Years 7-9
The Personal, Social and Health Education programme aims to develop the students physical and social well-being. It is an integral part of the whole school curriculum.
In Middle and Senior school PSHE is a timetabled subject of one period per week.
Each year group is assigned a teacher who takes responsibility for this course.
The programme aims to:
- Enable students to make informed, educated choices in matters pertaining to their personal health and social well-being.
- Educate students about sex and inform them of the health risks related to smoking, alcohol and drug abuse.
- Raise awareness of the diversity within our community with particular reference to age, disability, religion, ethnic background, sexual orientation and gender.
- Create an atmosphere which encourages open and informative discussion where questions are answered at a level appropriate to the child's age.
