CelloYear 3 have been studying musical instruments of the orchestra. On Thursday October 17th 2005, they went to the Museum of Instruments near San Giovanni in Rome.

There were 19 rooms in all.  Allan and Glenda were with us.  The violins were so cute. I liked the enormous harp most of all. I love that museum of instruments.

A man made an instrument that he had to wet his fingers to play it. I liked the mechanical instruments.

We went in room 1. There were old rusty instruments. Then in room 2 we had to find the tambourine.  In room 3 we saw the oldest piano in the world and a fancy piano owned by a King of Germany. It was very nice.  In room 8 there was a big drum.

We saw one of the most special pianos in the whole wide world. I saw at least four hundred instruments, maybe even more.  The thing that I liked best was the crystal flute and I even saw a koto! A koto is a very long and fat instrument.

FluteMy two favourites were the crystal flute and the black bassoon because my Daddy has it.
    Annabel

We saw a guitar made out of an armadillo's shell! In the last room we saw flutes made out of crystal, silver and gold.
