HOMEBerlin History Trip - Year 12

    16th – 19th March 2008
    Lawry Stone reporting...
During the packed four days, we visited some of the most important sites in European history including the Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie. Students also had the opportunity to experience the claustrophobic atmosphere of a Cold War nuclear bunker and a variety of historic sites including the sad but thought-provoking Sachsenhausen concentration camp. The Berlin Story Museum was fascinating and the food and shopping divine!!!!

This has to rate as one of the best school trips I have ever participated in and we will certainly be repeating it for many years to come! Eugenie and I both agreed that this visit was a huge success because of the students of the New School! They were all wonderful - reliable, polite, appreciative, motivated and simply excellent company!

    Maria says….
The Berlin trip was a great bonding experience for all the students, spending four days together in the vibrant city of Berlin. We learned a lot about each other and were very surprised at how popular ‘Pinky and Perky’ were with the ‘frauleins’. One of the highlights of our trip was the wonderful opportunity to experience different types of cuisine especially the chance to eat at the Jewish community centre thanks to the excellent planning of the teachers. The fact that we were able to spend free time outside of school made the experience even more exciting.
