Aims of the course: |
The main applications of these criteria for classroom practice are that the foreign language is always introduced and practised in context; it is topic-related rather than grammar related and familiarity with the foreign language culture is essential. In class pupils listen to CDs to improve listening comprehension skills. There is constant emphasis on the spoken language. A wide yet practical vocabulary is included at GCSE. Consolidation work set for homework is likely to be given at least once a week and pupils should also expect on written homework per week to be handed in for marking. In general, the emphasis in the GCSE course falls on speaking, understanding and writing authentic Italian, French or Spanish. |
