]]>Students from Year 9 enjoyed a week of sailing on the island of Ventotene on June 15th at the Lega Navale Ventotene. The trip was organised as part of the school's annual week of activities before the Summer break.
As part of the five day intensive course, the students learned how to prepare sailing boats for water and how to actually sail.
Francesca who organised the trip said, "It was an amazing week. Ventotene is such an amazing place and we had six fantastic lessons sailing around the island."

Students in Year 7 were given the opportunity to make clowns of themselves - and in front of an audience! The clown show took place on Tuesday February 2nd with the Primary School making up the audience.
Students in Year 7 have been studying all aspects of clown performances from staging, design and make-up as part of their Drama course.
The New School Rome's Drama teacher Eugenie Woodward said that she was "delighted" with the effort Year 7 had put into the rehearsals and the actual performance.

The New School Rome's home-made cake sales every Thursday are proving to be a huge success. The idea came from students in Years 7, 8 and 9 as a way of raising money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
Two cake sales have already taken place with two more planned before the school breaks for half-term on February 11th. Students and parents alike have been very busy in kitchens across Rome churning out delicious home-made cakes for the sales!
So far more than €500 has been raised.
The Primary school also organised its own events for Haiti on Thursday January 28th. See the separate news article for more details.
